Our eighth feature to promote businesses of DEC Connection members is about Zul Abbany of Raleigh NC, who also took the lead in organizing our newest DEC Connection chapter, the Carolinas, and hosted its opening event in October 2009.  Zul's profile is especially interesting since his business goal, like the DEC Connection's, is to keep the Digital heritage alive!

About Zul: President of the Americas operation of Stromasys, Zul Abbany is a highly accomplished sales and marketing executive with a proven record of results in expanding revenue, building channel programs, and developing partner loyalty.

With more than 30 years experience in the highly competitive information technology industry, Abbany manages all aspects of the Americas operation and is responsible for the revenue growth, profitability, and product lifecycles of the CHARON software solution and service in the region. Among his significant previous positions, Abbany served as Vice President of GlobalPartner Sales for ABB, Inc., where he successfully developed and executed the Channel Strategy that drove new incremental revenue and led the company through different phases of Strategic Partner Initiatives. Prior to that, as Vice President of Alliance Development for the SAS Institute, the world’s leader in business analytics software and services, Abbany led the division responsible for global partner management and business development. As the Director of Global Accounts at Compaq Computers, he led a team that developed marketing strategies for key global accounts, generating more than $5 billion in revenue. A veteran of Digital Equipment Corporation in Canada, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he guided restructuring of Canadian business operations while meeting sales targets and maintaining revenue growth.
